Next HOME Game : season 2012/13

Pirates held their annual end of season Presentation Night on Saturday 28th April at the Five on 5 Club within the ProLife complex in Paisley, where a packed crowd heard coach Ian Turley, on behalf of the club management team, pay tribute to everyone, both on & off the ice, who had helped contribute to yet another successful season.  The club had finished as runners up in the Scottish National League for a second successful year in spite of a number of difficulties, which had seen almost half the squad disappear from the roster for a number of reasons.  Each of the players & volunteers present, received a small memento in recognition of their services to the club, before moving onto the main awards ceremony, which saw players presented with their trophies as follows:

       Most Valuable Player John Churchill
Young Player of the Year Jack Burns
The Difference Maker Award           Richard Thorp
       Players Player Mark Hassan
       Most Improved Player Mark Hassan

On one of the most successful social nights of recent years, with easily the best attendance for a long time crammed into the venue, thanks go to the Five on 5 Club staff who made sure that the evening was another memorable one.

The event doesn’t mark the end of Pirates’ activities over the close season, as they will once again be taking part in the Barshaw Open Day on Saturday 16th June, when they will be running a ‘Beat the Netminder’ stall.  There will also be a very special Pirates Reunion at the Five on 5 Club on Saturday 25th August, when it is hoped that Pirates past & present will be attending the event & re-living former glories & memories as the club goes into its 21st season, both of which will give supporters the chance to see a few familiar faces & catch up with all the close season gossip.  For more details contact piratecomms@btinternet.com or if you would like to chat about the Reunion, please call 07854 724184.

Thank you for your support & we look forward to seeing you over the summer before we commence action again in September 2012.
